I just recently traveled across the US and I brought two pairs of hiking boots with me: one Timberlands and the other being Oboz.
I wanted to wear the Oboz for more intensive hiking trips and I wore them maybe five times? I immediately returned them to REI because within those five times of wearing them, the stitching started coming apart and the tread on the soles were ripping off. There was also no traction on wet surfaces. I was disappointed because I know of so many people who swear by this brand. I do not want to give them a second chance at this moment. Instead, I am open to exploring new brands.
The Timbs surprised me in the long run. They were reliable and quick to dry, but now they aren’t looking too hot. They will only take so much more beating lol
I need a new pair of hiking boots, ones that specifically prioritize ankle and foot support. Waterproof encouraged, but not required. I am open to considering Timberland again, but I just don’t know what’s good. I feel like so many brands (Oboz, Merrel) have declined in quality and I don’t want to shell out $200+ for boots that won’t last a season! I would love honest and critical feedback!
